Italian luxury manufacturer ISA Yachts has secured a contract to build its largest yacht to date, a 71-meter mega motor yacht that arrived at the shipbuilder’s Ancona facilities on board a dockship just prior to the end of 2013. The passage took over a month, traveling 5,000 miles from Arkhangelsk on the White Sea where construction began.
ISA’s contract includes completion of the yacht’s technical areas, systems, interior guest areas and installation of exterior aluminum furniture and teak decking. H2 Yacht Design crafted the ship’s exterior lines as well as the interior layout. ISA’s in-house team will follow H2’s original design specifications, which feature a large salon and adjoining dining room on the main deck and an upper deck with a television lounge. Living quarters feature five guest cabins plus two owner’s suites, one located on the main deck and another on the lower deck. The latter has a hinged shell door that turns into a sea-level balcony.
Hein Velema, ISA’s sales and marketing director, indicated the owner chose his company for its reputation for producing interiors with unrivalled quality such as those on the award winning 60-meter Mary Jean II, the 50-meter Belle Anna and the 63-meter Kolaha. ISA’s ability to include the project in its already busy shipyard schedule was also a determining factor.
