Lürssen's 85m Solandge Designed to be Enjoyed. See at Monaco Yacht Show

Every detail that went into the construct of Lürssen's 85m super yacht Solandge is completely about enjoying life to the fullest. Because the owners signed a contract in 2007 ago for a slot years ago that didn’t become available until 2010, they had a huge amount of time to refine their concepts, looking at many different yachts in the interim while Lürssen developed a special team to implement the owner’s plans. Richard Master,  Lürssen project and operations manager notes that the owners already has a smaller Lürssen that they had purchased on the brokerage market.

Solandge is almost 20 meters longer and one meter wider then her predecessor and includes an additional full-beam VIP guest cabin. She is based on an 80 meter hull and platform similar to Phoenix2, Ace and Quattroelle.

Engineering to eliminate excessive sound and vibration were important issues. Decibel levels were part of the construction contract, with Lürssen exceeding requirements by 20 percent in some areas.

For the interior, designer Espen Øino created a profile based on the owners’ previous vessel that included all guest suites and a saloon area on the main deck with the owner’s suite on the deck above. The final product mixes soft shapes with hard lines. Exterior paint, including the white sheer line, adds emphasis and in conjunction with the white boot stripe optically lower’s the yacht’s massive freeboard.

Øino also gave each deck a specific function to create many places for friends and family to gather or be by themselves. Built-in furniture included bars buffets, dining areas, a pool and two hot tubs., an exterior cinema and nightclub on the top deck, a gym, sheltered main-deck reception and a private outdoor seating area in conjunction with the owner’s suite. The open plan in the living area also included a multifunctional saloon measuring more than 172 meters unbroken by supports. The saloon features a Beckstein piano and a Venetian console table along with a large bar on the port side and a massive dining table under Schonbek chandeliers. Forward is a seating area facing a fireplace and a television screen concealed behind a painting.

Guest cabins are modern, each encompassing a different color scheme. One converts to a guest office or media center, while the VIP suite may be changed from a cabin with attached sitting room to two separate cabins. The owner’s deck apartment features a private office, separate his and hers dressing rooms and bathrooms and the master cabin with a 180-degree view overlooking the bow, outdoor seating and private spa.
Guests can enjoy a spa on the bridge deck. With a spacious sauna, steam room, massage room and a beauty salon connecting to the gym and outdoor swimming pool, along with a private massage suite. The large, multi-functional sun deck has ample seating, a horseshoe-shaped, plus a bed-sized platform piled with cushions. These large exterior spaces reflect the current trend for decks that mirror all interior functions for guest living. Outdoor furniture incorporates edge lighting and features that allow entertaining to be spontaneous.
