As the largest yacht ever built by British-based Sunseeker, mega yacht Blush, owned by the Jordan Family Trust, is expected to become a fixture at the Monaco Yacht Show, starting with its debut in 2014. The 47.25m Blush is the first of the shipbuilder’s composite-built 155 series, incorporating such unique features as a round bilge, a true beach club and a GRP hull and superstructure built in 300 separate pieces.
With Blush as the flagship mega yacht, each yacht in the 155 series is expected to be truly unique, reflecting the preferences of its owners. Hull No. 2 in the 155 series is already under construction, with completion expected in early 2016. Eddie Jordan, who has a 30-year association with Sunseeker, knew he company would be able to build a fast, light and safe ship with a composite hull.
The innovative and efficient round bilge hull is designed for fast and efficient cruising at speeds up to 28 knots and is even more efficient at lower speeds of 10 to 12 knots for a potential transatlantic range. During sea trials, Blush’s twin MTU 12V 4000 M73L engines each ran at 50 liters per hour.
Australia’s MouldCAM created the composite pieces for the mega yacht Blush’s hull and superstructure, shipping them to the United Kingdom for assembly. Such design allows future clients to change exterior styling to suit their own needs. With sleek and aggressive lines, Blush definitely has the Sunseeker stamp. Exterior space, however, offers privacy through dedicated spaces that include a sundeck relaxation area with spa pool, sunbeds, seating and a bar and dining area. The upper aft deck and forward main deck also have areas in which passengers can enjoy the passing views.
Outdoor living space also includes Sunseeker’s first true beach club that provides a great play area for children as well as an easy and safe area for guests and crew to embark and disembark. A transverse tender garage is forward of the beach club.
A luxurious wow factor is evident in Blush’s interior design. A master suite and two VIP staterooms with floor-to-ceiling windows occupy the forward section on the main deck with the upper saloon aft, also incorporating large French windows that lead to fold-down terraces for spectacular views, plentiful balconies and an open look that makes passengers feel like they are out on deck even when they are not. Two additional guest cabins are on the lower deck along with crew areas and a galley.
Mega Yacht Blush is certainly a Flagship for Sunseeker’s 155 Series.
