The recently launched Project Sunset from Sunrise Yachts will make her formal debut at the Monaco Yacht show. As the second vessel in the Sunrise 45m Series, Sunset is a full displacement motor yacht with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure built for a North American client. She is the sister ship of Dynasty, formerly Africa, the first ship of this series launched in 2009.
With naval architecture by Karatas Yacht Design in conjunction with Sunrise, she has one of the largest volumes in her category at 499 gross tons and features a full-length technical tunnel going from the engine room to the bow thrusters, making tanks and systems on the bilge deck easily accessible. This three-deck luxury yacht features expansive deck heights, impressive stability via an ultra-modern system that reduces roll motion and results in a smoother cruising experience, along with features for low sound and vibration. Sunrise is built for long distances with a range of more than 5,000 nautical miles. Twin MTU 12V2000 M70 engines are expected to give her a maximum speed of 15 knots.
Studio Scanu supplied exterior design while Franck Darnet Design designed the contemporary interior, which features light veneers and bright coloring. Up to 11 guests may be accommodated in five suites, including an owner’s cabin, two double cabins, two twin cabins and a Pullman cabin. Accommodation is also available for up to nine crew members. Sunrise is compliant to MCA, Lloyd’s, 100A1SSC yacht mono G6 and LMC standards.
