2015 Genoa International Boat Show to Continue with New Format

genoa-boat-showThe organizers of the Genoa International Boat Show have decided that the 2015 event will continue with the successful format started last year, continuing the format started last year. In 2015, two marinas will be devoted to displays of more than 500 boats. The new format reinforced traditional exhibition areas that will be flanked by new spaces dedicated to every kind of water sport.

The Genoa show is of utmost important to the industry as Italy is the biggest superyacht-building nation in the world. It also aims to make Genoa a strategic hub in the Mediterranean yacht charter market.

In 2014, more than 109,000 visitors came to the event in just five days, making it the most popular boat show in the Mediterranean, and the first in terms of he range of product categories exhibited. Last year’s numbers total 10,000 boats on display, 760 exhibitors and 1,300 navigation trials conducted. In addition, 1,450 journaists working for 410 publications attended the event.

Another parameter that’s not so easy to measure but crucial to success is atmosphere, which also appeared to get a boost from the 2014 show, with the renewed enthusiasm of visitors. The 2014 show was the first one organized by I Saloni Nautici SpA.

Scheduled for Wednesday, September 30 through Monday, October 5, the Genoa International Boat Show already has rental contracts in place for the exhibition ground and contacts with main partners already started. Four main areas will comprise the show: outboard motors and inflatables, powerboats and motor yachts, sailing and accessories and components. Each section will have features specifically tailored to meet the expectations of visitors and exhibitors. Fullyfledged “worlds,” a new innovation for areas like water sports, diving and recreational fishing, are planned to attract new enthusiasts.

The organizers also hope to capitalize on the proximity of the 2015 EXPO, 90 minutes north in Milan as it will overlap partially with the Genoa Show. Significant work that began in 2014 to provide a greater international flavor to the show will continue this year.
