Yet another superyacht has come out of the yards of the Dutch shipyard Heesen. Christened M/Y Sibelle, Heesen Project Y/N 16750 is a 50-meter fully custom yacht that remains under 500 gross tonnage.
Featuring an aluminum hull and superstructure, Sibelle was built for an experienced Heesen owner who was deeply involved in the development of this unique vessel. Sibelle is the first Heesen yacht with a plumb bow. More than simply a styling feature, it also ensures that the ship’s navigators keep the best possible course, especially in high-wave conditions, while also allowing f or greater onboard comfort.
Sibelle can reach a maximum speed of 18.5 knots with only two 1,000kW MTUs installed. The modest propeller tunnel design allows for 1.50-meter diameter propellers The hull has Quantum XT zero-speed fins that offer maximum reduction in roll angle at anchor. Many naval architecture features focused on providing the best possible fuel efficiency, without sacrificing performance and comfort.
Frank Laupman of Omega architects, and Mikhail Labazov and Andrei Savin from Architectural Bureau A-B Studio created the exterior design, the general arrangement and the interior décor of M/Y Sibelle. The vessel will be tested in the North Sea and is expected to be delivered to her owner by the end of February.
