The much-anticipated Christophe Harbour Marina in St. Kitts has officially opened to accommodate superyachts in the eastern Caribbean. The facility is the result of a $100 million infrastructure investment with the government of St. Kitts and years of planning in conjunction with Buddy Darby, an experienced superyacht owner.
Designed with yacht owners in mind, the marina features include a professionally engineered entry and turning basin and has several additional perks such as significantly reduced bunkering costs due to no duties on the important or sale of fuel, around-the-clock security, provisioning services, state-of-the-art pedestals and a dock that cold possibly set the standards for future facilities.
The marina is also a designated point of entry for St. Kitts with onsite-expedited clearance.
The first phase of the marine has 24 alongside berths ranging from 150 to 220 feet offering freehold berth ownership opportunities for transient vessels. When the marine is fully completed, it will include a shoreside village with restaurants, boutiques and hotels. A Park Hyatt Hotel and Tom Fazio golf course are also under construction in the area.
Aeneas Hollins, a former superyacht captain, has been named Christophe Harbour’s director of yachting. During the marina’s inaugural season, vessels ranging from 85 feet to 300 feet will receive three nights of complimentary dockages. Developers believe that the marina’s proximity to so many eastern Caribbean islands as well as a nearby modern airport that can accommodate commercial aircraft and private jets will make Christophe Harbour an ideal location for beginning and ending a charter.
