Wim van der Valk has begun construction on Continental Trawler 2395, the first all-aluminum flybridge model in a series of semi-custom trawler style yachts. Guido de Groot has designed the yacht that the Dutch shipyard is building on spec.
The new trawler style yacht will accommodate as many as eight guests over four cabins and a crew of four. Notable characteristics include excellent fuel efficiency, achieved partially due to her round-bilged hull and semi-displacement capabilities. Thanks to her large fuel tank and light aluminum construction, she will have an impressive range. Twin V8 MAN 1200HP engines will give her a maximum speed of 18 knots.
Potential owners can customize their yacht through their choice of size andmake of engines, gearbox and stabilisers as the base system is designed to accommodate a wide range of systems and choices. Trawler Series yachts are available in sizes ranging from 17 to 40 meters.
Commenting on the vessel, designer de Groot noted that the 2395 has been designed from the inside out and combines a larger interior volume with a hull length of 24 meters in a stylish and modern no nonsense look.
The first Continental Trwaler 2395 is currently for sale, with delivery expected in spring 2016. Wim van der Valk has seven yachts currently in build from the Continental and Continental Trawler Series. The flagship 37-meter Continental Trawler, slated for completion in June 2015, is the next yachts scheduled for launch.
