First Phase of Golfito Marina Resort and Village Nearing Completion in Costa Rica: The initial construction phase of the Golfito Marina Resort and Village, a luxury report for private and charter yachts on Costa Riva in the Central American county of Costa Rica is nearing completion.  The main pier is slated to be in place in the first week of February, with the ability to accommodate yachts up to 106 meters in length.

Developed by Hacienda El Dorado, S.A., the 40-acres resort and village will be a first-class yachting, sports fishing, eco-tourism and luxury resort destination, with 138 slips to accommodate luxury yachts and superyachts. Exclusive villas, the resort, a fisherman’s village with restaurants and bars are scheduled for completion at the end of 2016. The villas will feature a variety of spacious floor plans and will be last residences of its type built in this area in order to preserve the locale’s natural state.

The resort will serve as a new superyacht charter destination as the area was previously inaccessible to larger vessels. The marina will feature an array of amenities, including an on-site customs and immigration office, a fuel dock and full service boat yard. Construction of the resort’s grand entrance canopy with a custom waterfall is also underway along with interior roadway infrastructure.

Other features in the first phase of construction include 50 deep-water slips, dry boat storage and a service yard. When completed, Golfito Marina will have 132 slips designed for yachts 9 meters to 106 meters, a yacht club, tournament fishing facilities and charter fleet ,  24-hour concierge services, an open air spa, fitness facilities, swimming pools and a nightclub for after-hours entertainment.

Located 343 miles north of the Panama Canal, Golfito Bay is considered a safe harbor and is the only approved drop-off and pick-up zone for yacht transport ships on the west coast of Central and South America.  The project offers a unique destination, tapped by National Geographic as the “most biologically intense place on earth,” that was previously inaccessible to travelers seeking luxury accommodations.
