Turquoise Yachts Announces Construction of 74m Megayacht Project Barracuda: Turkish shipbuilder Turquoise Yachts has begun construction of Project Barracuda, a 74m yacht with delivery expected within three years. Turquoise CEO Mehmet Karbeyoglu noted that owners used to wait five years for their yachts to be completed, but that most customers now want their yachts quicker. Turquoise is dedicated to finding new ways to save time in the construction process.
H2Yacht Design’s exterior pays homage to the company’s previous collaboration with Turquoise, Talisman C, with the same masculine and timeless lines. The new project also has an innovative interior layout similar to that of the 74m superyacht Vicky.
Ken Freivokh designed the interior to be practical yet elegant, with an emphasis on enjoying the sea. Interior highlights include a saloon-dining room that opens to the aft terrace and a dedicated onboard cinema. The superyacht also has a full-beam sky lounge and bar, plus a beach club, steam room, massage room and indoor-outdoor gym. Another focus involves integrating the decks with a triple height atrium designed to circulate guests via an elegant spiral staircase.
The owner’s suite, two VIP suites and four guest cabins can accommodate 16guests. Crew quarters have space for 18 in a captain’s cabin, six double crew cabins, four single cabins and one crew/office convertible room.
