Columbus Yachts Presents Radical New Explorer Megayacht Named Tomahawk: Columbus Yachts and designer Marco Casali are collaborating ones again, this time on a new 52m modern explorer megayacht. Tomahawk is named after the Native American battleaxe, which is captured in the slicing straight bow design that gives the concept a definitive exterior. The megayacht project may be developed in lengths from 40 to 100 meters.
Notable features are extreme guests spaces and ultimate comfort at sea. Interior guest areas are located forward, leaving the vast at deck space free for loading of large tenders and landing craft. The aft level opens directly over the sea and allows hosting of up to two 12m tenders.
Casali noted that Tomahawk is conceived as a megayacht within a ship because of her comfort qualities. Among her unique features is the opportunity to host an MCA-compliant helipad on the top deck with direct access to the main stairwell, plus an enlarged bridge that offers perfect visibility for mooring and cruising.
Accommodations include five cabins that sleep 10 guests, with the aft-facing master suite on the upper deck benefitting from wraparound windows. A dedicated deck outside is an ideal breakfast location. A substantial pool is located on the sundeck, while the lower deck has two twins and two double cabins.
Entering the vessel is a true experience as guests are made to feel that they are being immersed into an unusual yachting experience. Tomahawk has unobstructed views of her surroundings and incorporates a layout that develops through spacious and functional areas, all of which creates a true feeling of space and comfort that is typical of a luxury villa.
