Maxum Boats for Sale. Although Brunswick Corporation ceased production of Maxum Boats in 2009 in a cost-cutting move, plenty of gently owned and cared for models of these great watercraft are still on the market. Vessels in this line are often considered an upscale version of another Brunswick subsidiary, Bayliner Boats, as their hulls are built in the same manner. Maxum Boats will continue to be serviced by Bayliner for warranty work and other repairs, while the company also offers online support and owners’ manual for general information and to aid in troubleshooting.
Maxum reached its highpoint in the early 2000s with the introduction of a revolutionary docking system with a bow thruster and twin stern thrusters that intended to overcome difficulties that beginning boaters often have when docking a single-engine stern drive watercraft. Only a handful of Maxum Boats were made with this system, as the company abandoned the technology after little promotion.
If you’re in the market for a quality, used Maxum boat, you’ll typically find a selection of vessels with prices across the board, ranging from bowriders, for daytime usage, to sports cruisers, convertibles, racing and high performance boats, motor yachts. Most available models range from 17 feet to 46 feet in length, with the smaller Maxum 1800 being the predominant craft sold.
