Azimut Yachts to Debut Two Mega Yachts S10 and Grande Magellano in 2019: Azimut will debut two new mega yacht models next year, with both marking first-time design collaborations for the brand.
The Azimut S10, part of the yard’s S Collection series with sporty styling and spirited speed features exterior and interior design by Alberto Mancini of AM Yacht Design. Mancini has previously worked with Mangusta, Otam and Baglietto, to name a few. He has also worked in automotive design and brings those influences into his yachts. The 28-meter S10 combines some expected looks and features with unexpected ones. Although she is still sporty, she has multiple terrace-life levels flowing aft. Hidden steps take guests down to the beach club for a clean look. Glass characterizes the stern railing as well.
Owners can outfit interior and exterior spaces as they see fit, including the alfresco area just outside the saloon. A sunning spot by day, it can become a party platform at night by removing the cushions. A hot tub may also be installed here. The Azimut S10 offers similar tones and textures for indoor and outdoor areas to create a thematic connection.
Carbon fibers remain visible on some surface. It’s on the superstructure, which resembles fins, in part. It also replaces stainless steel in the side rails.
No speeds have, as yet, been revealed for the S10. Azimut hasn’t reveal speeds either for the new Grand Magellano, however the 25-meter yacht will become the new series flagship as the Magellano series emphasizes long range and more traditional looks.
Vincenzo De Cotilis is responsible for styling and interior design. Known for his furniture design, De Dotilis is famous for mixing reclaimed materials with brand new ones. He also favors open spaces.
The grande Magellano has wall supports made of fiberglass with the glass fibers visible. These contrast with more customary materials like wood, brass and mirrors. Brass is inserted throughout all interior surfaces. Flowing, even unexpected shapes, such as an irregular dining table, which mimics a rugged shoreline, are located throughout.
