Baglietto and Mulder Design Collaborate on 70m Sestante Megayacht Project Baglietto has introduced a new partnership with the Dutch Mulder Design firm that involves the creation of a new 70-meter megayacht concept called Sestante. The project’s notable features include clean lines and large volume, something Mulder Design has become known for on past projects.

Sporting a strong exterior with a defined bow shape is also vital to on-board comfort. The hull also has important characteristics that play into stability, sea-keeping and efficiency in various speed and loading conditions.

The High Speed Cruising Hull developed by Mulder and designed specifically to deliver a high top speed than most conventional hulls while retaining long-range capabilities. Sestante is designed to reach speed of more than 25 knots while also covering a range of 6,500 nm when cruising at 12 knots. Various propulsion packages have been developed, yet Mulder has also achieved efficient figure while using a Voith Linear Jet systems that also offers a substantially lower draft of abut 3.2 meters.

Further research has gone into creating a stable ride at sea under higher speeds. Standard roll stabilizers will maintain a steady ride in choppy conditions. For an even more stable, a pitch stabilizing system combined with roll-stabilization, can reduced pitch up to 40 percent.
