Baglietto Launches 55-Meter Superyacht Severin°s: Italian shipyard Baglietto has launched its latest semi-custom superyacht amid a lavish ceremony that not only included the owner and Bagiletto officials, but also a number of ultra high-worth individuals, civil and military authorities, business executives and the team that worked on the yacht along with their families.
Formerly known at Hull 10225, Severin°s had a traditional launch and then some. The launch included the traditional christening of the yacht and champagne bottle crash, but what was also remarkable was a flotilla of Baglietto yachts in the Gulf of Poets that marked a historic rite of passage from the past to the future. These included:
• Caroly, a 1947 sailing yacht, now a training ship for the Italian Navy
• Nina J, a 2006 motoryacht designed by world-renowned architect Tommaso Spadolini
• Only One, built in 2015
• Silver Fox, Baglietto’s 2018 launch
• MV13, Baglietto’s powerboat tender
Superyachts currently under build at the LaSpezia yard include hulls of 54 meters and 40 meters in length, as well as a 48-meter hull due to a 2020 launch and a 46-meter hull slated for 2021.
Baglietto CEO Michele Gavino noted that the day was historic and emotional as it witness the launching of the biggest build by the shipyard, along with superyacht representing Baglietto’s history.
Severin°s is part of Baglietto’s traditional T-Line platform design by Francesco Paszkowski. Her soft and sleep line’s reflect the shipyard’s traditional Italian style. With the lowered gunwales and side air vents, the vessel will embody the brand’s distinct aesthetic features. Paszkowski designed the warm and cozy interior in collaboration with architect Margherita Casprini. The layout, idea for charter with six cabins, was developed through cooperation among the client, the shipyard and Paszkowski Design.
The main deck has a vast master suite with a central bed, a secluded office and a walk-in closet. Two cabins for family members are located on the same deck. The central lobby features a panoramic lift in marble to connect the three decks. Aft is a main saloon that offers an elegant space enclosed by a glass window that can be completely opened. A dining area completes the main deck.
On the lower deck are two additional guest cabins, with a crew area next to the galley. Crew quarters include a mess room and six cabins, all with ensuite heads. The captain’s cabin is on the upper deck next to the wheelhouse, which has an integrated system by Telemar.
The upper deck hosts an additional cabin, which features a multifunctional space with a sofa and two Pullman beds. This area can easily become a playroom or a massage room as required. The interior layout also has a living room conversation area and a gaming table. The exterior features a dining table for 10 with a bar and relaxation area aft.
Baglietto’s trademark sun deck on Severin°s is astonishing. Measuring 150 square meters, it features a vast sunbathing area with freestanding sun-beds on the stern, while a relaxation area is located under a roll bar. Two pop-up tables can transform this space into a dining spot. A swimming pool and bar is also located on this deck. The beach club offers 55 square meters of space and includes a steam shower, bar and an additional area for a gym and spa.
The superyacht is certified by Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and has two Caterpillar 3516C DITA engines that give her a maximum speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.
