Canados has combined the amenities of 100-foot-plus superyachts with a hull length just short of that definition. The overall length of the 808 Maximum is 80’7” with a hull length of 75’8” in this Mario Casali-Too Design vessel. Canados indicated that the main deck master suite was of utmost importance, as was the choice between four or five staterooms. The four-stateroom version also needed to be flexible to allow for one VIP stateroom and four regular cabins. A second master stateroom could be substituted for a VIP suite.
The shipbuilder also called for additional conveniences such as a tender garage., wide side decks for the benefit of the crew and private access to crew quarters. Canados also required superior speed, a characteristic of all of its projects.
These design requirements challenged Casali. He noted that to accomplish the requirements, the main-deck floor had to be staggered into three slightly different levels. The dining area, which is a circular indoor-outdoor spot aft, and the saloon are the first level. The master bedroom is two steps down, with an additional three steps down leading to the walk-in wardrobe and bath.
The 808 Maximus devotes more floor space to the wardrobe and bath than similar-size yachts. The staggered deck feature yields seven feet of headroom in the master suite, while also allowing installation of skylights above the bed and master sink.
Hull number one has dual master suites, with the one below decks spanning the full 6.25m beam. Two guest statements and a single crew cabin for two comes with this layout.
Owners will also get a choice of propulsion. Hull number one has twin 1,900hp MANs with an expected cruising speed exceeding 25 knots. Twin 1,550hp MANs are available with a cruise speed of closer to 23 knots. Range should be in the vicinity of 400 nautical miles.
