Diana Yacht Design Unveils 55m Bluebird Superyacht Concept: Dutch studio Diana Yacht Design has revealed exterior styling and naval architecture for the ultimate family-friend explorer-style yacht, a 55-meter superyacht concept it calls Bluebird that features flexible layout and room arrangements.
Features include a two-story apartment, generous guest space and accommodation for up to 14 crew-members. Bluebird’s elegant, timeless profile has balances lines and large windows with a superstructure positioned somewhat forward to enhance the explore look while allowing for giant aft decks. The finely flared bow adds to seagoing performance, dampens slamming and enhances overall comfort.
The vessel has a dedicated owner’s deck, located between the main and bridge decks. A full-beam master stateroom offers a 180-degree panoramic view forward. A private staircase leads down to the main deck’s forward area where two double suites for children are located. The doors on both decks can be locked to create a two-floor, three suite apartment that includes a gym. If guests are on board and the main salon and aft decks are used for a party, the entire foredeck can also remain closed.
Main deck suites can be converted to accommodate more children if needed. A starboard cabin is available in the family area for a nanny or a teacher. This area can also be transformed once kids grow up and have relationships of their own as the area can ben transformed into suite with a double bed and bathroom.
Four other guest suites are on the lower deck and add to the flexibility of this layout. Main deck suites may be used as VIP suites when two families are on board, with extra room on the lower deck for additional guests or children.
Bluebird also has a lot of available storage space. The walls of the lounges on the owner’s and main deck open to large aft decks where all tenders and toys are stored. Below is an expansive beach club with a swimming platform and bar.
Additionally, the interior encourages extended on-board living and includes a cinema in the main lounge, a range of dining options and a choice of relaxation space.
Her design is based on extensive market research and is expected to position her between a luxurious superyacht and a dependable expedition vessel. Twin Caterpillar C32 engines will provide a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots with a range of 4,000 nautical miles.
