Era 80 Megayacht Concept Brings Style to Traditional Explorer Yachts: The new 80-meter Era 80, by Ricky Smith Designs, is a progressive and innovative design with aerodynamic styling that includes a distinctive covered bow designed to reduce drag. Working in collaboration with Stuart Friezer Marine naval architects, the hull shape has been tested at Shanghai University, yielding theoretical top speed for the design that features an aluminum hull and azipod propulsion.

Smith indicated that he wanted to develop a smooth, molded and non-faceted superstructure while also shifting the yacht’s beach club to midship for additional stability. The full=beam owner’s suite features an open plan with a dedicated salon, theater and dining areas, a private cocktail bar and a bistro-style café servicing a secluded aft deck. A private staircase runs from the deck and helipad to the main salon. The Era80 will sleep 20 guests and 24 crew.
