Ferretti’s New 850 Megayacht
Significantly sized windows above and below deck characterize the Ferretti 850, along with a more residential look and feel for which the in-house steam strove. Inside, an open bookcase serves as a divider between the saloon/dining area and foyer. Hull Number One of the Ferretti 850 features a white-lacquer wall. Standard wall design is a ceramic material that mimicking grey marble to pick up tones of the brushed metal lining the bookcase. The modern ambiance also features dark flamed oak and satin-finished brass. A white, lacquered overhead is both decorative and functional, hiding lighting, speakers and air conditioning vents.
The galley is also decorative and functional, situated fully forward on the main deck, instead of below decks in a small space. The light, bright treatment is designed to inspire the yacht’s chef. In addition, a cocktail bar is on the port side, open to the saloon, which allows for the wheelhouse to gain a small lounge.
The Ferretti 850 measures 85 feet overall and is powered by MAN engines. Standard V12-1800s promise a 26-knot cruise speed and 29-knot top end. Highest range is about 330 nautical miles with the standard engines.
