Futuristic ERA 80 Megayacht Concept Revealed by Australian Designer Ricky Smith: Australian designer Ricky Smith has teamed with Stuart Friezer Naval Architects to create a bold, futuristic megayacht concept. Measuring 80 meters, the ERA 80 features a rising bow and a sloping structure that leads down to the swim platform.
Efficiency is at the heart of this project as it will feature all-aluminum construction. Tank testing has already take place at Shanghai University in China that proves that the megayacht will be capable of reaching a top speed of 25 knots with minimal propulsion power ERA.
Guests will board the yacht via tender on the aft swim platform or via either side balcony. A helicopter-landing pad is another feature.
ERA’s interior is designed with four guest staterooms on the lower deck and a VIP suite that connects directly to the spa and wellness center onboard. The owner will enjoy a private deck that leads out onto the 13m-wide helicopter landing pad and outdoor entertainment space.
The project team drew inspiration from the explorer yacht Ulysses that was outfitted in just 10 months and applied the same philosophy to this concept with the idea of shortening outfitting and delivering the yacht more quickly to the owner.
