Heesen Launches 50m Masa: Formerly known as Project Aster, the 50-meter yacht now known as Masa, has been launched from the Heesen Yachts shipyard in Oss, Netherlands. The owner named his yacht Masa, the eighth in Heesen’s popular 5000 Aluminum Class because it means “my diamond.”
Christiano Gatto designed the interiors, which feature light colors and silver details to create a tranquil atmosphere inside. Masa can accommodate 12 decks in five lower deck suites and a master stateroom on the main deck forward.
Frank Laupman of Omega Architects created the distinctive exterior lines that feature a pelican-beak bow with reverse sheer and a sporty mast. Her all-aluminum, semi-displacement hull has been designed, engineered and welded by Heesen’s in-house team to the smallest tolerances. Due to her precise naval architecture and lightweight construction, Masa will reach a top speed of 23 knots produced by two MTU 16V 4000 diesel engines. With a weight below 500GT, Masa perfectly combines performance, comfort, space and refined luxury.
Masa’s maiden voyage will be shortly for rigorous sea trials in anticipation of being handed over to her owner in June 2019.
