Heesen’s Mega Yacht Project Alba Christened VanTom: Formerly known as Project Alba, the 49.8-meter all-aluminum mega yacht has been christened VanTom by her owners at Heesen’s shipyard. The owners acquired the yacht a half year after the Dutch shipyard laid her keel. VanTom is expected to achieve a maximum speed of 23 knots under MTU power. She is also expected to have a 3,100 nautical mile range at 11 knots.

Omega Architects is responsible for her modern look throughout the vessel. VanTom’s owners collaborated with Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini on the design. They also worked with Heesen’s engineering and design staff to create an environment of unassuming elegance that is both relaxing and inviting.

As part of the project, Heesen Interiors, the builder’s own joinery and interiors company, made custom furnishings for the owners. Paszkowski and Casprini selected dark and light tones of woods and other luxury materials, such as leather and stone, while also featuring lacquered surfaces throughout the vessel.

VanTom has six staterooms, including a main deck master suite.
