Italian Yacht Builders Establish Nautica Italiana: A group of Italian shipyards has finalized its decision to form a new industry organization to rival UCINA. Nautica Italiana was established the first week of September in Milan by 25 brands, including top shipyards such as Ferretti, Azimut/Benetti, Perini and Baglietto. The new association will focus on the development of the nautical industry in Italy, both at home and abroad.
Initial priorities include:
• Reaffirmation of the industry’s credibility through exports and adoption of a Charter of Values
• Increased presence at industry events
• Development of a system to monitor nautical industry performance
• Reinforce constructive dialogue with relevant institutions
Board members, appointed by the association’s founding members include: Chairman Lamberto Tacoli, Vice Chairs Luigi Alberto Amico, Cataldo Aprea and Fabio Boschil; Director Corrado Salvemini; and General Secretary Lorzenzo Pollicardo.
Nautical Italiana has affiliated with Fondazione Altagamma, which serves as a partner to crete sygergies with high-end segments of industries such as fashion design, food, hotels, jewellery and automotive. Eleven of the Italian nautical brands have lectured to become members of Fondazione Altagamma.
