Luca Vallebona Unveils 62m Broadway Mega Yacht Concept: Italian designer Luca Vallebona has revealed a 2-meter explorer mega yacht concept called Broadway, coming on the heels of his 82-meter Pentagramma design.
Inspired by Manhattan’s famous theater hub and the grid-like layout of New York City, Broadway would be built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. With a 1,100GT displacement, the yacht will have an exterior that recalls the golden age of discover with brass-framed portholes and pillars above the main deck bulwarks.
Outdoor living on board Broadway is the yacht’s main emphasis as she has a spa pool and seating re with fire pit forward on the bow. Numerous terraces, including a private one for the owner on the bridge deck, are part of the design. The concept also has a large beach club aft, an upper deck pool with sunpads and a helipad that can be transformed into an additional sunbathing area or dance floor.
The double-height main saloon may be accessed directly from the lower deck gym/diving are and beach club via a staircase. Large sliding windows on either side of the saloon offer access to folding balconies, which feature two catamaran-style hammocks that serve to decrease the formality in this area. The main saloon will also house a bar and dining area, while forward will be a generous crew area, galley, wine cellar and day head joined to the main saloon via sliding walls.
Vallegona noted that he imagined two worlds, often hidden from one another, could be joined through a simple system of moving walls so crew and guest could lose their limits to become a connected space to be lived in together. He added that this presents a new opportunity to look at a new way to uses spaces and create relationships aboard in a less formal way.
Accommodations are for 12 guests across six cabins. An owner’s suite is situated amidships on the mega yacht bridge deck, accessed via private staircase. It’s split over two decks and includes a raised private terrace forward. Four cabins are located forward on the lower deck, which also includes a full-beam multi-use area with two foldout balconies. This may be used as a fifth cabin, spa, playroom or house a similar usage.
