Lürssen Gives 98m Project Maui a Technical Launch: The complete hull and superstructure of the new Lürssen 98-meter motor yacht known as Project Maui has been released into the water on a technical launch on the way to moving to her final build she in Rendsburg, Germany. Little is known about the project scheduled for a 2019 delivery.
Exterior design is reportedly by Harrison Eidsgaard, which would be a first for the London-based studio. The superyacht also has a 12-meter swimming pool, a huge spa and big diving areas. It will be helicopter-ready, with storage below the bow. Accommodation will be for as many as 20 guests across 10 spacious suites.
The first images of Project Maui show a steel hull supporting an aluminum superstructure designed for worldwide cruising. Cut-out sections in her bow and stern appear to indicate extensive tender and water toy storage capacity. She is reportedly being built for an American client who has previously owned several yachts.
