Lürssen Launches 136m Superyacht Flying Fox: Formerly known as Project Shu, the latest superyacht by Lürssen, now called Flying Fox, has been delivered and has made her maiden voyage from Bremen, Germany to Stavanger, Norway.
Launched in December 2017, Flying Fox features the work of designer Espen Øino for the exterior and Mark Berryman for interior styling. Flying Fox has a beam of 20.5 meters and an LOA of 136 meters. The superyacht has two helicopter pads with the capacity to accommodate some of the largest civil helicopters in the sky. One pad is situation on the sun deck and the other is on the bridge deck.
Øino created a sleep look with curvaceous and uninterrupted lines from bow to stern. Flying Fox ‘s exterior features cutaway bulwarks on the bridge deck and upper deck that allow plenty of light through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The yacht has well-balanced proportions that allow for expansive exterior decks and intimate formal areas.
The enormous swimming pool, set transversely on the main deck aft is a standout feature. Flying Fox also has large sea terraces and swim platforms to enable easy access for watersport activities. The large tender garage at water level can accommodate an entire fleet of tenders and toys. Two additional tenders are stored on the bridge deck on either side of the superstructure.
Mark Berryman has created spacious living areas decorated with neutral tones and soft fabrics and surfaces that characterize Flying Fox’s interior spaces.
Superyacht Flying Fox is now one of the top 20 largest superyachts in the world. Lürssen has two additional projects scheduled for delivery in 2019: the 110-meter Project Tis and the 95-meter Project Fiji.
