Megayacht Project Jupiter Sets Sail as Al Lusail: Following a recent christening ceremony, the Lürssen megayacht formerly known as Project Jupiter has embarked on her maiden voyage from the German builder’s shipyard in Bremen. Delivered to her owner in Norway, the 123-meter vessel, now known as Al Lusail, is moored in Kristiansand, a popular stop for megayacht handovers.

The ship is named after Lusail, the newest planned city in Qatar, located on the coast of that country, 23 km north of Doha. Little has been revealed about the highly secretive project that features in-house naval architecture and exterior styling by British studio H2 Yacht Design and interiors by March and White Her flowing lines blur the boundaries between the upper four decks to create a dynamic look. She is reportedly build to Lloyd’s Registry standards with a 23-meter beam with a full-displacement steel hull, teak decks and a aluminum superstructure.

Al Lusail is H2’s first design for Lürssen and the studio’s third superyacht design over 100 meters on the past three years. Previous H2 projects on this scale include the Kleven explorer yacht Ulysses and the 125-meter Maryah.
