Mondomarine Launches Largest MegaYacht to Date
Luca Dini is responsible for interior and exterior design for Sarastar, which is the 65th yacht built by the shipyard. She was christened in the shipyard at Savona in the presence of her owner, guests and members of the media.
Sarastar’s owner, who previously purchased the 41m Nameless from Mondomarine in 2013, indicated that he chose the shipyard against because of the reputation of Italian craftsmen, which is not found elsewhere in Europe.
The newly launched superyacht has 100km of welding, 120 km of electrical cables and 45,000 of in-house design and engineering. She also has 470 sqm and 10 different varieties of marble, onyx and semi-precious stones and 110 sqm of gold leaf.
Performance wise, the 900GT Sarastar has a top speed of 195 knots, a cruising speed of 118.5 knots and a range of 4,100nm at 12 knots.
Both Sarastar and the M/Y Ipanema, 2 49.2m semi-displacement yacht with interior and exterior design by Hot Lab that was built for a Middle Eastern client and launched in June, are expected to be present at the Monaco Yacht Show.
