Moonen Reveals New 47m Mega Yacht Concept
Moonen managing director Emile Bilterjist noted that in developing Navarino, the yard has moved away from the stereotypical explorer yacht image of “toys for boys.” Navarino’s sleek looks and sophisticated main deck layout is designed to change people’s perceptions of how an explorer yacht should look or who might prefer to be on board. The yard calls her a “go-anywhere” superyacht.
Navarino provides accommodation for up to 10 people, with a main deck owner’s suite and four guest cabins below. The innovative layout includes a raised aft deck lazarette, putting it on the same level as the beach club. This arrangement generates a considerable amount of space for alfresco activities and allows guests to be close to the water.
The monocoque structure, where the hull and main deck are a single entity, offers major benefits in strength, stiffness and weight, meaning that the main deck does not have any side decks. This results in an increase in volume and a full-beam interior across the main deck, making Navarino one of the largest 500 GT superyachts on the market.
In response to increasingly strict rules protecting natural areas, Navarino offers advanced options to allow continued access to such regions while reducing overall environmental impact. Solar panels, sustainable materials, heat recovery of exhaust gases and hybrid propulsion.
Lengthy expeditions are also possible due to the large hold for food and supplies. The superyacht will be able to carry at least 50,000 liters of fuel and 12,000 liters of fresh water.
