New Superyacht Village and Marina to Debut at FLIBS 2019: The 2019 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) will unveil a brand new Superyacht Village at Pier 66 south. Already the largest in-water boat show in the world, the new marina and exhibition space will expand FLIBS to over 3 million square feet in 2019. The show will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2019 and attracts more than 110,000 yachting and boating enthusiasts from 52 countries each year.
Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & marine will host the new Superyacht Village at its “Pier South” property, adjacent to the southeast corner of the 17th Street Causeway Bridge in Fort Lauderdale. As one of few Fort Lauderdale venues that can host yachts up to 121 meters, the 3.5-acre Superyacht Village will also host displays of helicopters, submarines, collectable cars and more. All general admission ticket holders will have access via water tenders and shuttle bus routes from the show’s other six locations.
Jessi Blakley, Tavistock Development Company senior director, noted that the Pier South property overlooks the port and offers superyachts a perfect place to dock. Pier Sixty-Six is one of the East Coat’s premier yachting destinations and the exclusive offersings of the Village align with Tavistock’s vision for the future of this iconic property as the social harbor of Fort Lauderdale.
Plans also call for a destination restaurant, reserved parking, valet and private water tender services. Wine and champagne tastings, concerts, pop-up luxury fashion and jewelry exhibits, automotive and superyacht toy interactions, award receptions, seminary and the second annual FLIBS best Yacht Chef Competition are expect to be among the events slated for the Superyacht Village
