Nobiskrug Provides Details of 77m Superyacht Black Shark: German manufacturer Nobiskrug provided initial details of its 77-meter superyacht M/Y Black Shark at the yacht’s recent keel laying at its Kiel facility. On track to meet a scheduled delivery in Spring 2021, Black Shark has a striking exterior crafted by Winch Design.
With a black painted exterior, an imposing reverse bow and lines emulating a shark, the same theme will continue inside through the designs of Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design.
Andrew Winch noted, however, that the initial superyacht design never intended to emulate a shark. Instead, he wanted to create a design with pure lines that appeared to be low volume and high volume on the interior. The client noted the shark within the design and added a customized mast to look like a shark fin.
The interior layout includes eight guest cabins, a main deck that will be used as a formal business area and a more family-oriented area in the sky lounge. Black Shark will also have three decks, two tenders, a spacious on-deck whirlpool, a luxurious beach club and spa area. She will be built under the new IMO Tier 3 regulations and Red Ensign Group Yacht Code Part A.
A unique, yet sophisticated interior concept included looking at the texture and effect of shark skin and the way the fish moves through water. This will be reflected on a subliminal level in challenging materials and interior features on the interior, according to Zlatko Imamovic of Sinot Design.
Nobiskrug’s keel laying ceremonies feature a tradition, which sees the owner place a special coin under the keel. It’s a symbolic start to the superyacht hull assembly as well as a mark of good luck for sailing the oceans. The coin is retrieved and returned to the owner once the yacht nears completion.
