Oyster Luxury Yachts to Begin Manufacture Once Again: Oyster Yachts has announced that it will once again manufacture yachts at their facilities in Wroxham, England, and has hired 50 former employees just three months after the company went into administration.
Work has already begun on an Oyster 675 yacht, the first of two yachts for which the company currently has contracts. Several more orders are expected to be signed in the company weeks as Oyster seeks to complete projects paused during administration. Oyster has indicated it will continue to scale up hiring as more order contracts are signed, emphasizing a commitment to heritage and saving as many highly skilled jobs as possible.
The shipbuilder also successfully re-launched the Oyster World Rally in April with 17 Oysters leaving Vanuatu in the Pacific and setting sail for the Whit-Sundays in Australia.
Richard Hadida, Oyster’s new owner and CEO, noted that he was delighted that the luxury yacht builder could begin to fulfill existing client orders interrupted by the administration process while also looking to the future with confidence as the company accepts new contracts and returns to full-scale production.
