Permare Launches World’s First Quad-Pod Mega Yacht

Permare Launches World’s First Quad-Pod Mega Yacht: Italian yacht builder Pemare has launched its flagship vessel, a 33.5-meter Amer 110 megaycht, built as a custom project for a three-time repeat client. The Amer 110 is historic in that she is the first superyacht fitted with four IPS pods for her main propulsion. Two groups of counter-rotating props will provide a top speed just below with excellent maneuverability.

The shipyard indicated that it has applied a new anti-foul film to the hull, a procedure that has only been utilized in the naval field until now. The film must only be replaced every four years and will reduce maintenance costs.

The Amer 110 will be displayed at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
