Superyacht Builder Blohm + Voss To Open Refit Facility in France: Blohm + Voss will partner with LaCiotat Shipyards, which will provide a large dry-dock and adjacent workshop within its existing shipyard to service the refit of yachts over 80 meters in length. Operations are slated to begin in November. Blohm + Voss is currently working on establishing a management team that will oversee the preparation of the facility as well as all future yard operations.

Fred van Beers, Blohm + Voss CEO commented that establishing a maintenance facility for megayachts in La Ciota is an important step in the company’s growth strategy. The German’ company’s new office in Monaco and this new central European location moves it core business closer to its customers. The dock in La Ciotat is 200 meters long and 60 meters wide.

Blohm + Voss customers will have the choice of using the company’s extensive shipyard in Hamburg or the new base in La Ciotat for large yacht maintenance, refits or conversions, with high quality standards and on-time services at both sites.
