Superyacht Builder Nobiskrug Developing 85m White Lion: German shipbuilding Nobiskrug is collaborating with yacht designer Igor Lobanov and interior design studio Nauta Yachts to develop an 85m motor yacht with a gross tonnage under 3,000. Currently in engineering, Nobiskrug expect to lay the keel for White Lion within several months and set estimated delivery just prior to summer 2018.

White Lion’s engineering platform may be customized to client taste ad requirements, including layout and structural requests. Extremely large guest accommodations due to the vessel’s high volume are a key characteristic. The owner’s quarters will be more than 130 square meters while the VIP staterooms will measure 70 square meters. Igor Lobanov has created a design to accommodate exterior entertainment areas that include a large beach club and dedicated pool deck with area for storing 10m tenders and a helicopter landing platform, easily accessed by the platform. The vessel’s hotel deck will have a selection of lounges, bars, gym, garden and a 17m-plus exterior swimming pool.

The project will be one of the first vessels to follow the IMO’s Tier III propulsion requirements that will take effect in 2016. This standard was developed to keep emissions to a minimum by introducing control technologies that include various forms of water induction into the combustion process.
