The de Groot Design Studio, previously responsible for a number of Van der Valk yachts, has blended contemporary and classic looks for the exterior design. The real show, however, comes on the inside where the owner took the custom part of the construction to heart.
The saloon promises to be very big. Most megayachts in this size range have a combined saloon and dining area, but this Raised Pilothouse kips the dining area and incorporates the cooking area into the saloon. The saloon features a central island with eight seats, along with a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, humidor and wine chiller. Guests can also dine alfresco on the aft deck.
Also unique is the location of the crew’s work and living areas. Typically, it’s found below decks, aft of the engine room. In this Raised Pilothouse, it’s forward on the main deck. The crew mess and two crew cabins flow from the combination galley and utility room that has a cooktop, oven, freezers and a laundry corner.
The location of the crew areas leaves the lower deck to the owner and guest staterooms. The full-beam master stateroom is after and includes a folding desk. The VIP stateroom is forward, while one double and one bunk-berth cabins lie to each side off the foyer. Whitewashed English oak is featured in the bright interior.
The proximity of the crew quarters to the raised pilothouse is also convenient A three-seat settee joins the helm chair so guests can enjoy seeing the shore come into sight. An extra helm station is on the fly bridge as well where the main focus is dining and sunning. Stowage for a tender and PWC are aft. Twin MTUs are expected to give her a top speed of 25 knots.
