Tankoa Updates S801 Superyacht Design: First introduced in 2014, Tankoa has released a new, refined version of the 80-meter S801 design project that is reportedly nearing development completion. The Italian shipyard has worked closely with designer Francesco Paszkowski on a profile that is more contemporary and balanced to suit the brand’s current market. The S801 will still cover five decks, have an open sundeck and an internal volume of about 2,500 GT on a 13.5-meter beam.
Inside, the superyacht S801 has a grand master suite and a five VIP cabin setup that can accommodate 12 guests. Tankoa notes that the internal development is subject to change according to the owner’s wishes, as is typical with all of the shipyard’s projects.
Tankoa Sales Director Michel arsenti noted that the manufacturer’s plan was to introduce a different approach to the market, one that would not look obsolete after a few years. The aim was to create something radically new based on the elegant design of classic sailing ships.
Paszkowski studied the famious Italian tall ship, the Amerigo Vespucci, for inspiration. For this superyacht project, he divided each deck to appear as floating clouds by using large areas of glass and black aluminum. S801 will have a strong steel hull and lightweight aluminum structure.
