Vessel Overview
"Boomer" is a 2003 McKinna 65 that has been very well maintained and is ready for cruising. It is powered by twin CAT 3406E (TA) diesels rated at 800 hp each which provides a cruise of 20 knots when desired. The Onan 27.5 KW generator provides plenty of power for when you are away from the dock and Boomer is equipped with an inverter system for the cooler months when air conditioning is not needed. The vessel is also equipped with a hydraulic bow thruster for easy maneuvering around the dock and with a draft of only 3 ft 7 inches this vessel is well suited for Bahama cruising. The hardtop on the bridge provides great protection from the sun and the hydraulic stabilizer system ensures a smooth ride when cruising.
The 65 McKinna has a solid fiberglass bottom and wide side decks with high railings for secure passage forward. Side boarding gates port and starboard make boarding when dockside quite easy.
When boarding from the stern there is a large swim platform which easily fits the included rigid hull inflatable tender. The hydraulic davit is also located in the transom and access to the cockpit is three steps up in the starboard side. The aft cockpit features comfortable seating and a large table. A storage cabinet with a sink is located just to starboard of the large sliding doors leading into the salon and an electric grill with an ice maker is located just to port of the salon door. There is engine room/lazarette entry via a large deck hatch and there is easy access to the wide sidedecks port and starboard leading forward. A ladder on the port side of the cockpit leads up to the flybridge and it can be completely retracted into the overhead for a more open and spacious cockpit when desired.
The salon is on the same level as the cockpit with beautiful teak woodwork and features Nautikflor Boat flooring that was new in 2018. There are also custom blinds which were added in 2017 to match the salon decor. Directly to starboard inside the salon door is a cabinet which houses a small refrigerator and there is a large couch with a teak table forward on the starboard side. Directly to port upon entering is a cabinet housing a wine cooler, two individual lounge chairs and a concealed pop up TV. There is also a bulkhead mounted TV at the forward end of the salon on the starboard side.
Moving forward the galley/dinette is located three steps up from the salon and also has new flooring. The galley is located to starboard and has a large refrigerator with two freezer drawers beneath and is finished in teak to match the rest of the galley and interior. The U shaped galley also has a dark marble counter top with a large sink, two burner cooktop and microwave. There are overhead storage cabinets as well as under counter drawers and storage. Directly across from the galley on the port side is the beautiful teak wood steps that lead up to the bridge deck with a curved teak wood handrail. Located just forward of the bridge access is the dinette which features a large teak table with built in seating fore and aft of the table. There is also a TV mounted on the aft galley/dinette bulkhead next to the overhead storage cabinet. The galley/dinette area also has custom made blinds.
The pilothouse area is located just forward of the galley on the starboard side and shares the newer flooring with the galley/dinette area. The full windshield forward is large and offers plenty of natural light and visibility from the lower helm. The windshield is also fitted with custom blinds that are electrically operated so they can easily be closed for privacy and heat reduction when the lower helm is not in use. The lower helm is also located next to a watertight door which allows direct access onto the exterior deck on the starboard side. This helm station has all necessary engine controls and two Raymarine MFD displays. There is a single helm chair located at the helm.
The entryway to the lower accommodations is located to port of the helm station and features curved teak steps which lead to the lower companionway which also has newer flooring. Once at the lower level companion way there is a washer and dryer unit located behind a cabinet on the starboard side and the full electrical control panel for the vessel is located in a separate cabinet on the starboard side forward of the washer and dryer.
Located aft of the stairs to the pilothouse is the master stateroom. Since this location is amidship it is the most comfortable location on the boat and utilizes the entire beam of the boat so it is quite large. The Queen size island bed is located athwartships on the starboard side and there is a small sitting couch forward of the bed on the starboard side as well as large storage closet. Directly across from the bed on the port side are storage drawers and a TV behind a teak cabinet. There is also a large storage closet located along the aft bulkhead which also contains access to the engine room. The entire room is carpeted. Located on the port side is the very large head with his/her sinks, a large shower that includes a tub and large mirrors.
Moving forward from the midship master stateroom and into the companionway the guest stateroom is located to port with a single bunk and direct access into the day head. The day head is located just forward of the guest stateroom and can be accessed directly from the companionway or from the guest stateroom. This large head has a separate shower stall, sink and vanity.
The VIP stateroom is located all the way forward and has a full centerline island berth and a private head located on the starboard side. This head also has a large stall shower and mirrored ceiling. There is a TV hidden behind the teak cabinet on the starboard side and the entire room is carpeted.
The large flybridge is primarily accessed from the internal stairs but can be accessed from the cockpit via a ladder that can be retracted into the overhead. The flybridge is protected by a hardtop over most of the flybridge deck and an open area aft. There is an eisenglass windscreen across the forward portion which zips opens for increased airflow. The helm is located on the starboard side forward and features two Raymarine touch screen MFDs with GPS, radar and bottom sounder. Just to starboard of the helm is a cabinet which houses a sink and a refrigerator along with several storage drawers. Just aft of this cabinet is a L shaped seating area with a table. This seating arrangement is replicated on the port side with another small table. All of this seating is under the hardtop and aft of the hardtop is and open deck area with room for movable chairs and the ladder access to the cockpit.
Back down in the cockpit is a large deck hatch for access to the lazarette which is quite large. There is easy access to the generator, air conditioner chillers and steering gear in this area. There is also abundant storage as well. Forward in the lazarette is the door to the engine room which houses the CAT 3406E engines.
Boomer has been well maintained by her current owner who has owned her for just over 4 years. With her well thought out 3 stateroom/3 head layout, preferred CAT engine power, hydraulic stabilizers, hardtop and shallow draft this vessel is an ideal cruiser. The AB rigid hull inflatable tender is also included.
