Yacht Show In Antibes Replaced With Networking Event

Although the Antibes Yacht Show has been cancelled for 2015, a new event called “Antibes Celebrates Yachting–Antibes fête le yachting” will take its place at the end of April. The Association de Soutien à l’Aménagement et aux activités du Port d’Antibes (ASAP), a group that works on the improvement of Antibes Harbour learned from the harbour’s president that organizers had informed him that a yachting show would not occur this year. The harbour president, however, asked ASAP to run an event because of the economic advantages that such a show has brought to the island in the past.

“Antibes Celebrates Yachting–Antibes fête le yachting,” the replacement networking event, will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 24-25. The event will feature a relaxed networking space and a 100-square-meter marquee for seminars. Two additional tents will also be available, with one devoted to crew recruitment and training.

Although the new event is not a sales show, Antibes Harbour officials have expressed an interesting in bringing yachts in. The Worldwide Yachting Association (MYBA) has also agreed to support the event. Most of the individuals working the event will be volunteers.
